Dress your bed in Patchwork…

I’m just a Country Girl at Heart!

Yes, I was born and raised for the first 24 years of my life back in York, Pennsylvania.  The Battlefields of Gettysburg and the lives of the Amish in Lancaster were my backyards.   Did you know that York, PA was the first Capital of the United States?

With this history about me, now you know why I was so excited to find these beautiful patchwork quilts from Lasting Impressions, VHC,Inc.

New for 2012 “Heartland“   Beautiful Quilts with matching Bed Skirt, Shams, Pillows, and Coordinating window treatment.

Also new for 2012 “Lancaster” Seeks comfort and country Sophistication with these Quilts, Bed Skirts, Shams, Pillows, and matching window treatment.

I just fell in love with this pillow, I have seen so many carriages growing up back in York.  When I was a child we would drive across the Susquehanna River into Lancaster and these carriages would be all over the place. (I’m talking over 50 years ago) I’m sure things are a little different today,  but a very proud group of respectful people.

The Amish were well known for there patchwork quilts and the pattern above know as “Wedding Ring Quilt“  this style of quilt was given to the newlyweds as a wedding gift as a token of their love.

This Patriotic Patch quilt is a good sample of what a patchwork quilt originally was,  it was to make good use of left-over scrapes of fabric; really came back in America during the depression as a necessity to keep warm.

Hope you enjoyed these beautiful patchwork quilts, from the Heartland of America to the Patriotic Patch of today, along with a little history of my younger days.

My mother was a member of the “Daughters of the American Revolution” ,  so as you can see I’m a true American Country Girl!

Come and check these and all the other Patchwork Quilts by Lasting Impressions at The Trendy Bed.com.
