How To Fold Fitted Sheets?

This used to be one of those things Mothers taught their daughters – but in today’s real world this doesn’t always happen.  If your Mother taught you this,  I truly hope you cherish the memories.

With a little practice, you can keep your fitted sheets easy to tuck into the linen closet.

1.  Folding fitted sheets will work best when on a flat surface, such as a table or your bed.  Lay the sheet down, elasticized corners facing up.  Neatly turn in corners and edges so they’re straight.  Grab the right top corner, flip it inside out, pull it toward you, and tuck it inside the bottom right corner.  Now tuck the top left corner into the bottom left corner.  At this point, the sheet is folded in half with the top half of the sheet folded into the bottom half.

Step 1

2.  At each layered corner, place a hand beneath the diagonal fold to flatten and smooth.   Hint: (Like you are wrapping a gift and how you fold the wrapping paper at the corners so you have a smooth fold)

Step 2

3.  Fold the sheet in half lengthwise so the layered corners are on top of each other.  Tuck so that three of the corners fit into one.  Smooth edges again like you did in step 2.

Step 3

4.  Fold the sheet in half again, then fold crosswise.  (You can also fold into thirds if your space is limited.)

Step 4

I hope everyone could follow through these 4 steps and another helpful hint:  If you use your sheets in sets, like our 100% Egyptian Cotton Sheet Sets,  store them that way.  Sandwich the folded fitted sheet and pillow cases inside the folded flat sheet so that when it’s time to make your bed, with nice clean sheets, you have the complete sheet set all in one place.

Thread Count Does Matter!

Thread counts does matter, it is not just some frilly nickname to luxurious hotel-like fabrics. Rather, it also determines the quality and life span of fabrics. It also determines how coarse or fine a fabric can be, based on the number of threads woven in it.

How does it work? For example, the fabric on your twin bed skirt says 200 thread count. That means in a single square inch of the bed skirt’s fabric there are 100 threads woven horizontally and there are 100 threads woven vertically. The counts of the threads woven in both directions are combined to come up with the final thread count.
